Tyrone Reitman, Co-Director

Tyrone grew up in Silverton, Oregon. His background is in political reform work, advocating for increased transparency and accountability in government and politics. Tyrone has also worked for and volunteered with a number of ballot initiative campaigns, acquiring a first hand understanding of Oregon's initiative process.

Tyrone graduated with a Master's of Public Administration from the University of Oregon. His studies focused on political reform, and decision-making in volunteer-based organizations. In his time off he enjoys travelling with his wife, rock climbing around Oregon, and barbequing for his friends. He is also an avid (and award winning) home brewer.  

 



Heather Marek, Outreach Coordinator

Heather grew up in Montana, and has lived in Eugene since 2007. She thinks Oregon is the perfect place for running, bicycling, hiking, skiing, gardening, and above all, playing with her dog on the beautiful coast.

Heather graduated from the University of Oregon with a masters degree in Conflict and Dispute Resolution. She has interned with government and non-profit organizations, and is interested in public policy. She joined the Healthy Democracy Oregon team in July 2010. Heather wants to use her training in communication and collaboration to increase citizen dialogue and participation in the political process.
