We are pleased to introduce Healthy Democracy Fund, our sister 501c(3). HDF will build support for the 2012 Citiziens' Initiative Reviews, as well as develop new exciting programs based on the same great principles of the CIR.
When the Oregon Legislature decided to pass a law making the Citizens’ Initiative Review permanent, it marked the first time a legislature made voter-deliberation of this kind a part of the election process. The moment was a milestone for Oregon politics, as well as the overall health of our democracy across the nation.
As we take our next steps towards building on this major success, we want to introduce you to our sister nonprofit organization, the Healthy Democracy Fund. The Healthy Democracy Fund is working to build support for the 2012 Citizens’ Initiative Reviews, and developing exciting new programs based on the same great principles of the CIR.
The Healthy Democracy Fund is a 501c(3) charitable organization that was created by the founders of HDO as a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization. Like Healthy Democracy Oregon, the Healthy Democracy Fund dedicated to enhancing the public’s voice in our democracy. Its mission is to work on powerful improvements to our democratic process.
